Our Story
The company story
RetroActive Web Services was founded by three young individuals who kept noticing the same thing: plenty of good small businesses were doing great work, but you would never know it from their online presence, or from the fact that they had none at all.
We're based in Nassau County, New York, and most of the businesses we work with are on Long Island or in the five boroughs, though the whole process works remotely, so we build for clients well outside the New York area too.
Most of the time it came down to cost. A professional website has a reputation for being expensive, complicated and built for companies much larger than a local shop, practice or family business. We didn't think that was fair, and we didn't think it had to be true.
So we started RetroActive to make high-quality websites genuinely affordable for smaller businesses. We work directly with each client, learn how their business actually runs, and build the site around their specific needs, not around a template we're trying to reuse.
The goal is simple: help small businesses present themselves professionally, reach more customers and keep growing online.
